Costa Rica has positioned itself as the number one worldwide supplier of the floral industry's most important cut green.  Although leather leaf is grown in more than one of the country's microclimates, the last 30 years have taught us that a band of soil near the Poás volcano at approximately 1500 meters above sea level has proven to yield some of the highest quality green leaves the industry has ever known.  IntraGreens' production comes from the heart of this area.

Using a high amount of organic soil amendments guarantees the dark leaf with a shine that distinguishes our product from the competition.  Most of the cutters/packers on the plantation have years of experience grading each bunch, and know to leave out the leaves with black and red spores.

Guaranteed Freshness: As of 2002, IntraGreens is the very first exporter of leather leaf fern in the world to put the interests of the end user first.  Many floral arrangers have complained about a reduced shelf life of leather leaf; that the fern dries out sooner than the flowers.  The importers and wholesalers must sell 'first in - first out' and many times find themselves with excessive inventories due to miscalculations of their market.  Consequently, the end user obtains less than fresh leaves.  IntraGreens only ships enough to meet each week's market demand; no old fern is ever pushed onto the consumer.  Our importers and distributors keep lean inventories, and only order what they can sell before the fern "expires."

Look for the stamp on one of the ends of each box that says 'Best Before Week xx'.  This stamp indicates that the fern can be purchased at the end of that particular week, used in an arrangement, and still do its job, no problem.
